Samuel G. Frederick

     Samuel G. Frederick, 79, of Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away on March 27, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on September 22, 1943 in Los Angeles, California; son of the late Samuel Robert and Mary Hidessa (Shoop) Frederick.

     Sam was a Class of 1962 Graduate of Northern Bedford High School, Machine Operator for Agway Feed Mill, Deacon at the Woodbury Church of God where he attended most of his life, and a member of the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Black Powder Shooting. He was a member of local sportsman clubs and the NRA.

     Sam is survived by his wife, Darlene Esther (Sollenberger) Frederick and his loving and caring family.  

     Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 6:00PM - 7:00PM. Sam’s Funeral Service will be from 7:00PM – 8:00PM with Pastor Michael Abell officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held from 8:00-9:00PM with light refreshments being served. All of the above will be held at the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church.

     Sam ALWAYS felt that everyone was welcome in church, whether you had just stepped out of a limo or were fresh from the fields. Come as you are, and let us rejoice that Sam is walking with Christ!

     Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sam’s name can be made to the Homewood at Martinsburg Benevolent Fund.
