Ronald Muthler Obituary

   Ronald Leo Muthler, 86, New Enterprise, died peacefully, March 23, 2023, at Donahoe Manor, Bedford.

   Ron was born in Monument, PA, son of Raymond and Thelma (Yeager) Muthler on November 30, 1936.  He was the beloved husband of 55 years of Patricia (Beach) Muthler, whom he married on November 23, 1967.

   Surviving are his wife; three children:  T. Scott (Kathleen) Muthler of Roaring Spring, Mark (Tracy) Muthler of Pottsville, and Christian (Elizabeth) Muthler of Evans City; grandchildren (his pride and joy): Jacob, Leah, Noah, Matthew, Eli, Isabella, Abigail, and Jesse: and a brother, Fred Muthler of Avis, PA.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Milan Drake, and sister-in-law Freda Muthler.

   Ron proudly served in the Army National Guard for six years.  He was a graduate of Mill Hall High School and Lock Haven Teachers College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education.  Ron was employed as a teacher, worked for the Department of Forestry and Piper Aircraft. He finished his career as a caseworker for the Department of Public Assistance.

   Ron was a 40-year active member of Koontz Church of the Brethren and attended Trinity United Methodist Church of Roaring Spring for the past eight years.

   Ron enjoyed attending all school, church, and athletic activities of his children and grandchildren.  His life’s hobbies and activities involved music, sports, coaching little league and wrestling, transporting and helping those in need. 

   Friends will be received from 9 AM until 10:45 with a service beginning at 11AM on Monday, March 27, 2023 at New Enterprise Church of the Brethren, 3715 West Brumbaugh Road, New Enterprise, PA with Pastor Mark Muthler, celebrant.  Interment will be at Koontz Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Loysburg.

   The family express their sincere gratitude to care workers from Cove Home Care, Donahoe Manor Staff, and Hospice.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the Koontz Church Cemetery Association ℅ Margie Lippincott, 138 Flash Drive, New Enterprise, PA 16664 or to the Garver YMCA, 819 Grove Street, Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
