Ronald D. Claar, 81, Maple Hollow, Duncansville, formerly of Bakers Summit, died Saturday at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in New Enterprise, son of the late Mearle and Olive (Amick) Claar. He married Connie Reffner on Jan. 6, 1962 at Holsinger Church, New Enterprise.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; two children: Coleas Langenbacher (Tim) of Duncansville and Kevin Claar (Cynthia) of New Enterprise; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren two step-great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Ted Claar, Coleen Richardson, Louise Morris, Reda Briglia, and Wayne Claar.
Ron was a graduate of Roaring Spring High School and attended Penn State for 2 years for forestry. He retired as vice president of Small Tube Products.
He was a member of Holsinger Church of the Brethren. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, going to yard sales, hunting morel mushrooms, gardening, and bird watching.
Friends will be received on Wed., May 10, 2023 from 10am until the noon funeral service at Holsinger Church of the Brethren, New Enterprise. Pastor Paul Snyder will officiate. Interment will take place at Holsinger Cemetery.
