Robert Steven Huffman

     Robert Steven Huffman, 85, of Roaring Spring, formerly of LaPlata, MD, passed away on February 14, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on April 24, 1937 in Washington, DC; son of the late Raleigh and Reta (Johnson) Huffman. On November 2, 1963 at the Bowie United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to Nancy Carole (Hall) Huffman.

     Robert loved his country and was a true patriot. He served his country, in Germany, as a member of the United States Army. Robert was employed by The Maryland- National Capital Park and Planning Commission, retiring as supervisor and after 32 years of service.

     He was a member of the Roaring Spring Trinity United Methodist Church, the LaPlata American Legion Post 82, the LaPlata 2 & 1 Club, and the Bowie Volunteer Fire Company. Robert and his wife enjoyed time together volunteering throughout the community.

     Robert was preceded in death by a brother, John Huffman. Surviving is his wife, Nancy Carole (Hall) Huffman; sister, Veda of Crofton, MD; as well as a large extended family.

     Friends will be received on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 2:00PM-5:00PM at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury and Monday, February 20, 2023 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Funeral Service at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Roaring Spring; Reverend Evelyn Madison will be officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
