Mazie Bingenheimer Obituary

     Mazie (Musselman) Bingenheimer, 98, of New Enterprise, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 16, 2024 at home. She was born on September 26, 1925 in New Enterprise; daughter of the late George F. and Mary C. (Claar) Musselman. On June 12, 1946 in New Enterprise, she was united in marriage to Ernest A. Bingenheimer; he preceded her in death on October 25, 2000. 

     Mazie was a member of the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren where she was part of the Women’s Fellowship. She retired from Cove Shoe Factory and along with her husband, owned and operated Bingenheimer Lawn Service. She enjoyed gardening, helping Ernie make wooden crates, and watching wrestling on TV. Mazie was a master baker, canner, and made homemade ketchup and jelly. She LOVED her Lord.

    Surviving is daughter, Beverly Swope of New Enterprise; daughter, Bonnie Sallada of Everett; daughter, Betty Fluke (companion, Carl Beegle) of Clearville; son, E. Allen Bingenheimer, Jr. (wife, Brenda) of New Enterprise; daughter, Bonita Hart of New Enterprise; grandchildren, Wendy McDonald, Glen Weitzel, Thomas Hall, Bill Sallada, David Fluke, Melissa Fluke, Tonya Detterline, Kristy Hart, Zachary Hart, and Brianna Clouse; step-grandchildren, Carl Beegle, Jr., Amy Musselman, and John Beegle; as well as 35 great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Mazie was preceded in death by siblings, Martha Detterline, Albert Musselman, Henry Musselman, Earl Musselman, and Dorothy Leach; and her beloved dog, J-Z. 

     Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren, Pastor Paul Snyder officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4:00PM-6:00 P.M. and Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church. Interment will be in New Enterprise Cemetery. 

     The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and to Pastor Paul and Janet Snyder. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mazie’s name can be made to the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren Kitchen Project (3729 Brumbaugh Road, P.O. Box 98, New Enterprise, PA 16664).
