June A. Mountain, 85, of Salemville, passed away on October 22, 2021 at home. She was born on December 24, 1935 in Charlesville; daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Diehl) Whetstone. June was a graduate of Bedford High School and was a hard-working dairy farm wife. She was a leader for 4H and Girl Scouts, a member of the Red Hat Society, and the Cove Community Club. June enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, bird watching, but most of all, her family and church family. She was a member of the St. John’s Reformed Church, Loysburg where she was a part of the Women’s Guild. June was preceded in death by siblings David Whetstone, Florence Ritchey, Lee Whetstone, Edward Whetstone, Clyde Whetstone, Mary Ann Barger, Mildred Harr, and Harry Whetstone. Surviving June is husband Charles I. Mountain; daughter Barbara Thomas (John) of New Enterprise; daughter Karen Davidson (Jim) of Bedford; son James Mountain (Celeste) of New Enterprise; daughter Kimberly Rodgers (Steve) of New Enterprise; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; sister Margaret “Peg” Wachter; and wonderful caregivers Betty Sweinhart and Connie Ochoa. Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00PM and Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 10:00 – 11:00AM. At 11:00AM Wednesday, a funeral service will take place with Rev. Dr. David Meckley officiating. All of the above will be held at the St. John’s Reformed Church in Loysburg. Interment will be in the Lower Loysburg Cemetery.
