James R. "Scritch" Scritchfield

     James R. “Scritch” Scritchfield, 59, of Hopewell, passed away on March 11, 2024. He was born on February 23, 1965 in Roaring Spring; son of James R. and Lorna J. (Oakes) Scritchfield.

     James attended Northern Bedford High School and drove truck for New Enterprise Stone & Lime Company. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and had a love for animals. James found great joy in attending auctions, finding items to buy and resell.

     James was preceded in death by his father, James and an infant sister, Kathy Jean. Surviving is his mother, Lorna; sister, Monika Miller (Daniel); nieces, Olivia Miller and Erin Bollinger; aunt, Jean Dalton; and a special friend, Kelly.

     Friends will be received on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10:00AM until the 12:00PM Memorial Service at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury; Pastor Beth Pyles officiating. Inurnment will be in Koontz Cemetery.

     If so desired, Memorial Contributions in James’s name may be made to Stone Funeral Home to help the family with final funeral expenses, the Bedford County Humane Society (162 Bohn Rd. Bedford, PA 15522), or Shriners Children’s-Ohio (One Children’s Plaza- 2 West Dayton, OH 45404).
