Eloise A. Detwiler, 94, Woodbury, died Monday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Woodbury, daughter of the late Luther and Mary Belle (Amick) Clouse. She married Rufus H. Detwiler on Oct. 12, 1947 in Woodbury. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2022.
Surviving are two sons: Vaughn (Barbara) of Saxton and Daryl (Stephanie) of Hopewell; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a half-sister, Alrue Replogle, and a half-brother, Charles Dively.
Eloise was a 1946 graduate of Woodbury High School. She had worked for NBC School District as a cafeteria worker, in the kitchen at Woodbury Elementary, and as a custodian at Woodbury Bank for many years.
She was a member of Woodbury Church of the Brethren and attended Raven Run Church of the Brethren.
Eloise enjoyed camping, bird watching, cats, planning the annual family corn boil, cooking for her family for holiday dinners, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful friend of the Vicksburg Quartet for over 40 years and enjoyed serving at the PA Singing Convention for 32 years.
Friends will be received on Mon., May 23, 2002 from 10am until the 11am funeral service, officiated by Pastor Rob Reed, at Stone Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Woodbury. Interment will take place at Dry Hill Cemetery.
