Donald L. Rettburg, 92, of Martinsburg, formerly of Waterside, passed away on May 23, 2022 at the Village at Morrisons Cove. He was born on December 10, 1929 in Hollidaysburg; son of the late Walter and Ruth (Helsel) Rettburg.
Don was a graduate of the Woodbury High School, Class of 1947. On March 16, 1952 at the Waterside Church of the Brethren, he was united in marriage to Anna Mae (Smith) Rettburg, who survives. In his early years, he and his wife farmed in Potter Creek. Don retired from Morris International in Everett after 33 years as parts salesman and manager. After retirement, he drove school bus for 13 years. Don was a former director and caretaker for the Woodbury Cemetery Association.
He was a member of Waterside Church of the Brethren where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer, and Deacon. Don was also involved with the Southern Cove Power Reunion Assoc. and was a charter member of the International Harvester Collector’s Club. Don was an avid collector of International Harvester Memorabilia and enjoyed gardening.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Rettburg and a son-in-law, Kenneth W. Bowser. Surviving are wife, Anna Mae Rettburg; daughter, Cathy Bowser of Waterside; son, Joel Rettburg of Everett; daughter, Jill Allison (Tim) of Roaring Spring; son, Jay Rettburg (Tammy) of Waterside; sisters, Betty McKie of California, Bertie Rettburg of Arizona, and Dolores Cvach of California; as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 9:00AM until the 12:00PM funeral service at the Waterside Church of the Brethren. Pastor Paul R. Snyder will be officiating. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contribution in Don’s name can be made to the Woodbury Cemetery Association or the Waterside Church of the Brethren.
