Clyde Earl Welsh, 66, of Loysburg, passed away on December 4, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 25, 1955 in Lafayetteville (Flitch); son of the late George Harvey and Doris Bell (Grasser) Welsh. Clyde was a Class of 1973 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School, 1984 graduate of the PA Fish Culturist School, and 1986 graduate of the PA Institute of Taxidermy. He served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Clyde was stationed on the USS Independence CV-62 and was honorably discharged in 1979 with medals for good conduct and national defense service. He retired from the PA Fish and Boat Commission as the hatchery manager. Clyde was a member of the St. John’s Reformed Church and enjoyed hunting, trapping, taxidermy, family, and the beach. Surviving is daughter Shanda Kaye Sable (Douglas); son Tyler Adam Welsh (April Zelanko); 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, George Welsh (Diana) and Jesse Welsh (Patty); sisters, Karen Clevenstine (Steve) and Wannetta Welsh (Mark Crooks); as well as many beloved extended family and friends. Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 4:00-7:00PM at the Stone Funeral Home in Woodbury and Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 10:00 to the 11:00AM Funeral Service at the St. John’s Reformed Church in Loysburg. Interment will be in the Lower Loysburg Cemetery with full military honors. If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Clyde’s name can be made to the St. John’s Reformed Church.
