Charles H. Oldham, 84, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away on December 17, 2021 at the Hollidaysburg Lutheran Home. He was born on August 14, 1937 in Yellow Spring, Williamsburg; son of the late Shannon and Blanche (Stern) Oldham. On June 27, 1959 he was united in marriage to Linda L. (Slagenweit) Oldham; she preceded him in death on July 28, 2020.
Charlie was a mechanic and machinist by trade for Cove Auto in Roaring Spring, retiring from Martinsburg Auto Parts. After retirement, Charlie drove school bus for Carbaugh’s in the Spring Cove School District and worked part-time for Longenecker Inc. in Williamsburg. He was a member of the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church and the Martinsburg Fire Company, on the Spring Hope Cemetery Board, a member of a camp in Potter County, and a founding member of a camp in Clinton County. Charlie enjoyed going to camp, hunting, cars and tractors, sitting on the back porch, Friday night meals with the gang, riding four-wheeler and pushing snow, spending time with his grandchildren, and was a devoted father and husband.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda; son Stanley Oldham in 2016; son David Oldham in 2005; and siblings Lee Jay, Paul, and Dorothy. Surviving is son Rodney L. Oldham of Martinsburg; son Dean A. Oldham (wife Nancy) of Roaring Spring; son Gary P. Oldham of Delaware; grandchildren Mitchel (wife Erin), Ashley, Jordan, Jalynn, and Amber Oldham; great-grandchildren Jaxon Brumbaugh and Aviana Walter; step grandchildren Lynn Rhodes (companion Kristi) and Crystal Rice; step great-grandchildren Austin and Kaylee Keith and Spring Rice; and sister Miriam Over of Williamsburg.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 10:00AM-12:00PM and 1:00PM to the 2:00PM Funeral Service at the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church; Pastor Michael Abell will be officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hope Cemetery. If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Charlie’s name can be made to the Martinsburg Brethren in Christ Church.
