Charles "Charlie" Decker Obituary

Charles A. Decker, 78, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at his home.  He was born on April 12, 1945 in Everett, a son of the late Winfred and Mary (Boor) Decker. On August 23, 1975 he married Jeannette (Hall) Decker in the Everett Church of the Brethren.

Charlie was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1963. He worked at Standard Register for 28 years, Rayloc in Hancock, Maryland, and delivered car parts for Fisher Auto Parts in Bedford. Charlie was a 34-year member of the Everett Fire Company, joining in August of 1968. He was an active member of the Everett Church of the Brethren.

Charlie was an old car enthusiast. After high school, he restored a 1932 Ford Coupe into a street rod. In 1972, he drove that car to Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Street Rod Nationals. Charlie met and attended car shows with people who shared his love of old vehicles.

Along with his wife of 49 years, Charlie is survived by sons, Adam (Valerie) and Andrew (Lacy); a special granddaughter, Adalynn; brother, Winfred Decker; niece, Molly and nephew, Louis; and his buddy, Cooter, the cat.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00AM at the Everett Church of the Brethren (119 East Second Street Everett, PA 15537); Pastor Mike Benner officiating. Friends will be received on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 6:00-8:00PM and Saturday from 10:00AM until the hour of service at the Church. A luncheon of fellowship will immediately follow the Funeral Service. Burial will be held privately at the Everett Cemetery.

The family would like to thank, friends, neighbors, and Heartland Hospice for the care and support given to Charlie.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Charlie’s honor may be made to the Everett Church of the Brethren or the Everett Fire Company.
