Janet R. (Baker) Ebersole

Janet R. (Baker) Ebersole, 98, of Martinsburg, formerly of New Enterprise, passed away on September 21, 2020 at Homewood in Martinsburg. She was born on January 12, 1922 in Roaring Spring; daughter of the late Charles and Ada Mae (Grace) Baker. On August 1, 1942 she was united in marriage to E. Eugene Ebersole; they spent 58 years together until his passing on July 17, 2000. Janet was a graduate of the Roaring Spring High School and member of the Loysburg United Methodist Church. She, along with her husband, were the owners of the first store in New Enterprise. Janet was also a school bus driver for about 40 years; she gave strict love and was very proud of her student riders. She enjoyed cooking, socializing with all, being with her family, and had a good sense of humor. Janet was preceded in death by her husband E. Eugene Ebersole; son Samuel Ebersole; and sister Enid Teeter. Surviving are daughter Joy Nesbitt (John) of Myerstown, PA; son Andrew Ebersole (Lisa) of Martinsburg, PA; brother Charles Baker (Donna) of Martinsburg, PA; grandchildren Julia Nesbitt, Dan Nesbitt, Betsy Baker, Katie Decker, Jay Ebersole, Roy Ebersole, Drew Ebersole, and Ian Ebersole; 11 great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law Jamie Ebersole. A Graveside Service will be held privately at the New Enterprise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Janet’s name can be made to the Martinsburg Community Library.
